About the Department

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is a specialized branch of engineering which primarily focuses on the measurement and control of instruments used in the design and configuration of automated systems. The department was started in the year 1999 with an intake of 30 students. The faculty members are qualified and experienced in all specializations such as Control and Instrumentation, Process Control, Applied electronics and Embedded systems. Department has well established laboratories with good infrastructure and state of the art instruments. The curriculum is being updated regularly with inputs from industries and reputed educational institutions.

Course Objectives

  • To provide basic fundamental knowledge in the subjects such as mathematics, circuit theory, measurements, Process control, virtual instrumentation to solve the real time problems in any applications.
  • To strengthen the student’s knowledge and understanding of core subjects using modern tools.
  • To apply appropriate techniques in formulating and analyzing engineering problems in instrumentation and process control.
  • To promote awareness among students about professional ethics and life-long learning.

    To control the parameters in a process or in a particular system, devices such as microprocessors, microcontrollers or PLCs are used, but their ultimate aim is to control the parameters of a system.

    The role of electronics and instrumentation engineers has come to come acquire a great deal of importance of any industrial undertaking as they are responsible for the maintenance, designing, and construction of the complete instrumentation system.

FACILITIES

  • The department has established laboratories namely Electronic Circuits & devices lab, Industrial Instrumentation lab, Transducer and Measurements lab, Computer Control of Process lab, Virtual Instrumentation Lab and Process Control lab.
  • The department organized more continued programmes in International & National level symposium, Workshop, Seminar and Guest lecture.
  • We have also conduct special programmes such as INFOSYS business English course, PALS programme for the welfare of the students.
  • The department library has a collection of reference and text books in the area of electronics and instrumentation. The project reports of passed out students are available for reference.
